I love crab, unfortunately I'm the only one who does in my family.
You were very brave to boil the lobster alive...I don't think I could.

Beccy - Same here... only me, but the husband will eat it occasionally. We let the men handle the boiling... in a way I was glad they had it taken care of before I got back with the camera!

Deborah,
Having grown up in New England I've become quite spoiled as lobster is something you just always have around, although it's gotten quite expensive lately. My parents live on Cape Cod, where it's still reasonable. Last July 4th I had the biggest lobster of my life, I believe it was 4-5 lbs! I love to squeeze some of the fresh lemon juice directly into the clarified butter.
(I'm with you and Beccy, though. I'd cook them if I had to, but if I don't have to, no I won't!)

Hi Deb, i'm so glad you posted this link, this is what we're doing for our Valentines dinner, instead of going out. I have two lobsters ordered from Rene Cusacks in Limerick and have been looking up websites all week to see how to cook them and what to serve with them - well this post answers all my questions!!
Thanks
