The Humble Housewife

Gravatar We tried and fell in love with cinnamon pretzels when we visited the US, I'd might just try and make some as it will be a good while before we return.

Gravatar Hmm looks lovely! I do prefer the soft pretzels rather than the harder ones. I have seen them with cheese and pesto and stuff on top before, not good for the waist line

Gravatar beccy has already said exactly what came to my mind when I read your post~ cinnamon and sugar I'm drooling at the thought

Gravatar I printed your recipe and will try them today. Thanks, they look delicious.

Gravatar MMM!! Looks so good!

Gravatar Oooh, Deborah. I'll have to try your recipe instead of the one I linked to. Dough pretzels are perfect for my son's tender tummy, that's why I put them on the menu. Thanks for testing them for me!

Gravatar Mmmmm. Auntie Anne's...haven't had them in a long time. I remember I love the garlic pretzels from there. Just to die for!

I've never thought of making my own pretzels, but after reading your post, I think I might give it a shot!

Gravatar Looks yummy, I love pretzels (and I've never had Auntie Annes.)

Gravatar I've never had Auntie Annes but I used to eat soft pretzels in Germany. These look even better than I remember!

P.S. Congrats on such a successful blogging 2007, here's to much more in 2008!

Gravatar Hi, I just found your blog and I am SO excited! I am a useless cook... or should I say I'm a terrified cook (I'm actually pretty good at it when I try) and was looking for inspiration after catching the cookery bug over Christmas. I've just spent the past hour scouring your pages and am delighted with what I see - thank you for sharing such wonderful recipes!!

Gravatar Your Pretzel looks great! I love it's golden color! Very attractive and yummy...

Cheers,

Rosa

Gravatar They were yummy, Deborah. I skipped the last brush with butter for the sake of the tender tummy, but oh, yum! I have already had requests for more.

Admittedly, mine were not beautiful either -- the dough is very soft, but that's what yields such a yummy soft pretzel. Thanks again.

Gravatar Beccy and Chris - Try it! The husband said he might try that next time. Just brush with butter and roll in a sugar/cinnamon mixture!

Sarah - Yes, savoury pretzels are great. Americans like them with honey mustard too!

Junebug - Let me know how it went?

Chris - Garlic... mmm... now there's a thought!

Thanks Laura and Lisa!

Welcome Amanda and THANK YOU!

Thank you Rosa!

Hi Barbara - So glad you guys liked them! When I made them I actually saved half the dough for when Paul came home. I just stuck it in the fridge after I had separated into balls. It was SO much easier to work with after it was cold, so will do that next time!

Gravatar What a yummy activity to do with my son! Thanks for the recipe. We love pretzels in my house but Auntie Annes can get expensive.

Gravatar Wow...I've always believed a Pretzel should be cooked in the traditional manner but I may try yours.
I must say I do prefer a dry prtezel

Gravatar Ok. I'll be brave and boil them. My kids and I always just bake them. They are still yummy, but don't have that great crust.

Yes, will be brave today. Thanks!

Gravatar Fantastic recipe.. Thanks for posting it!

Gravatar I used to make these when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
