I appreciate this post (even though I don't watch Kung Fu movies) because of your insightful discussion of innocence and ignorance, protecting children, and avoiding the near occasion of sin. Before my conversion, I saw no problem with exposing myself to the very brink of sin, and failed to make the connection between that exposure and the active sin that usually followed. Additionally, I had no positive spiritual influence to balance it.

I think I remember hearing about Sammo Hung in connection with a short-lived American cop show called "Martial Law." (Get it?) It was canceled when somebody at the network finally figured out that the star couldn't really speak English.

I loved that show! Martial Law was ridiculously plotless, so who cares if he could speak English or not? The show wasn't about anything except Sammo Hung kicking butt, and that's all it needed to be about.
