I should probably add as a clarification that, when Herod despoiled the tomb, that would have been some time in the first century B.C. However, the book of Acts also mentions the tomb of David as an existing monument in 2.29, suggesting something believed to be the tomb of David was present into the first century; however, note that some scholars consider Acts to be dependent on Josephus.

And of course, I mean first century A.D. when I'm talking about Acts. I just can't seem to remember to stick my B.C.s and A.D.s on there.
