Definitely one of Jet Li's best movies. The second movie in the series was also very good, but the third one was less so.

I think though that 'Hero' was Li's best and would rate high in both Myth Level and Quality. His last movie Fearless was pretty close to Hero in those categories also.

Hero will get my top rating in quality if I ever review it. As for Fearless, it was awesome in so many ways, but it's precariously unbalanced: all the action is in the first half. The poor organization will probably tick it down a notch if I review it.

I love Hero because it not only has awesome wire-fu, but because it actually tells astory with wire-fu, and not just a story involving wire-fu. Besides that, there's the beautiful tragic love story told three different ways with a different color scheme each time. It's hard to beat that for gorgeousness and plain old-fashioned awesomeness.
