Just FYI, its apparently circulating that the reason that Bumblebee was turned into a Camaro is that VW did not want to have any of their vehicles associated with violent robots. Too bad for them...kind of a stupid move.
Hmm, interesting if true. But surely they must have already had a license with Hasbro for the original Bumblebee, or would one be necessary?

I just watched this for the first time last night. Since it was not in a theater the sounds were under control and I found the action entertaining, the plot full of holes and the vulgarity highly distasteful.
Both my friend and I were horrified at the sprawled on the hood scene. Before the scene I'd only remembered from your review that they were making out in view of the car. There was definitely a shock to see them making out on the hood of the sentient car...ew...
I did not enjoy the crude jokes, although I don't remember the rude gesture. The parental scene was...well you put it well.
Even with the vulgarity, the most frustrating part was seeing every female character objectified. Mikaela's pivotal role is to steal a tow truck, which I could do with my limited knowledge. And the other girl who "cracked the code," what, she ends up as merely a bystander who suggests that someone else set up a computer to send morris code.
I would probably watch the fight scenes again, but I wouldn't watch the entire movie.

OK, I happend to come across this and have to say something. Firstly I grew up with the Generation 1 Transformers, and they were not easily breakable stupid toys. Secondly, it is a Movie a Sci-Fi movie at that, do you really expect it to be plausable?

Yes Megan Fox was how was it put here 'scantly dressed' but have you people walked around the local mall? Her character is a 17 year old normal American Girl that is how they dress. Yes her assets i will call them were emphicized, but hey its America and honestly Sex sells.
Yes GM was the major sponsor but not ALL the Transformers were GM. Barricade (the Police Car) was a Custom Saleen S281 Extreme thats based off the Mustang. Now last time I checked Mustangs were Fords, not GM, but hey maybe I'm crazy. Whats wrong with promoting an American flim with what for it, American cars.
I Loved the Movie, can't wait for the second, and yea I do want the 2010 (Not 200 Camaro, but come on what good Camaro guy wouldnt?
