The Sci Fi Catholic Yak Module

Gravatar Great letter! And I'm a little relieved to learn you love food, 'cause I'm always a little suspicious of anyone claiming to be Catholic who doesn't have a foodie inclination to moderate. I like to joke that I know I'm with bunch of gung-ho Catholics when conversation turns to homemade sausage.

Sounds like a super retreat. A friend has said I'd like the Beatitude community, but they're hard to find.

Gravatar Sounds like fun. Can I go to the Wyoming School of Catholic Thought without, y'know . . . actually going to Wyoming ?

Gravatar *laughing*

"It was a great retreat! We burned down the mountain!"

Glad you enjoyed it, D.G.D.

Gravatar I'm glad you got to experience praying the Liturgy of the Hours in community..Night prayer especially is a wonderful way to end the day.

I always look forward to our annual Carmelite retreats...and yes we also have the little bell/chime that reminds us of where we're supposed to be.

If you get the opportunity to make a silent retreat by all means do so... to clarify it is not 100 percent silent..you say the Hours, Rosary, and partake in sessions and confession... but idle chatter is greatly reduced. I also try to keep from humming to myself, although it can be difficult when I always seem to have a song in my heart (and an earworm of the latest song I'm learning.. )
