Here's my problem with Miers - the Supreme Court is an intellectual Super-Bowl. Before I throw anyone onto that field, I want to see a past track record that they won't get crushed on the first play.

Ms.Miers, though a successeful in her own right, should by this point in her career have more published and more debated on Constitutional topics if we are to consider her sufficiently qualified.

In other words, I want someone who has proven that they can hold their own with Bader-Ginzburg and Kennedy, rather than be led around by the nose by Scalia and Thomas.

A moot point now, but that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
