I would advise all right-thinking Americans to start seriously thinking about the longview. If you haven't started socking away for retirement, begin doing so as soon as financially possible. If you think the Fanny/Frank recession is bad, just wait until Medicare/SoshSecurity goes bust. Those of us in our 20's and 30's will live to see the fireworks. There's nothing more permanent than a temporary government program; I have serious doubts that we will ever recover after the Bush/Obama baliout/stimulus programs are in full effect. Thats why I also reccomend that if you move money offshore, you should put in in Yen or Euros or another currency that wont go through the hyperinflation that is bound to demolish the dollar.

He believed that a revolutionary vanguard would be required to lead the workers. On their own the workers would not revolt despite their class interest in overthrowing the blah blah blah ... so they needed someone to start the process.
He developed the concept called democratic centralism which means that the centre determines party policy which the members enact.
In the sales brochure, the party would step aside once class consciousness was raised to a sufficient level. Unfortunately after the first revolution of 1917 the Bolsheviks only had 23% of the vote so clearly the class consciousness wasn't high enough to trust the workers.
This remains the model by which parties in Cuba and Venezuela operate. In fact the extreme left parties in the US and Europe still operate on these principles.
