I don't understand why it's such a big deal about a woman being President. It's peculiar to American feminism/politics this whole issue. Maggie Thatcher didn't use her gender as a bargaining chip issue for power and old-school right-wing tossers across the country (for whom the thought of a woman running a business made them wet themselves) still managed to vote her in.
Besides i really want to see Bill Clinton as First Lady. Political correctness be damned.

It's not a woman being president that is the big deal...Its this particular woman that is the big deal! Hillary's gender is not the issue...its her politics.
We don't want a Marxist fanatic of any gender or color in the White House.
And in that sense, I think Hillary is the better choice than Obama. I loathe Hillary, but at least you know that the Clintons' lust for power will prevent them from going too radical. If the Clintons are known for anything, its making policy based on opinion polling.
Obama, on the other hand, seems to be a radical in moderate clothing. His wife scares me too. It must say something that both Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro have publicly supported Obama.
It kind of is an issue though, her femaleness. Isn't she appealing to a female vote for some weird reason? And aren't your media kind of worrying about what to expect with a woman in charge? It's that bit i don't get. Out of the 2 she is better than Obama. After what his wife said they should be booed off the 'stage'.
Hillary isn't hated because she's a woman. I think thew whole woman thing is a bit overhyped by our liberal, victim group crazed media. If Maggie Thatcher ran in this year's US race, she'd win hands down.
People hate Hillary because she's a Clinton. In the UK, you only heard the good spin about the Clintons. The reality is they're the two biggest lowlifes ever to besmudge American politics. Im not going to rehash the things they've done; If you're curious just surf the conservative blogosphere.
In actuality, democrats don't like Hillary either, thats why you saw them all jump ship to Obama so quickly. Clearly, aDM, Hillary is a better candidate than Obama on paper, but she has a horrible, uncomfortable personality and long history of underhanded Clintonian lies, ploys, and machinations. She is totally amoral and solely concerned with her own power, and even leftists can see it.
I can't stand the Clintons TLA.
For one he concocted a crummy deal in Northern Ireland. No matter what politicians in London, Dublin or Washington may say, installing Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness is a failure. It is stunning that a DUP-Sinn Fein "partnership" at Stormont is hailed as a great achievement. To listen to the Clinton's babble on you would think that installing a government of bigots and terrorists is a good thing.
And 2 - whenever i think of Bill Clinton i think of a man with no control. In every sense of the meaning. He was a womanising fiend, if not a rapist. She is s stupid cow for sticking by him.
I do get the impression though that some of the right wing media is directing its dislike of her around the whole gender issue - and she is also angling for that. That's what i find weird.
If Thatcher had run there the Left would be using the gender issue in their own special way too. The Left here ran the charmingly unsexist (ha ha) Ditch the Bitch campaign against her in the 80s. In fact i think its where the US Right and British Left found some common ground:
