Dang it. Dang-etty-dang-dang. I may have to look into Barr. I do not believe he was my favorite, ever. And, though I have a solid libertarian bent, I just cannot call that home because of the drug, abortion, and war issues (possibly among others). Still, a marriage of this sort at this time might be necessary, if enough of a consolation package (of a conservative nature) can be created in this mix. I might have to vote this way, depending on the package, if not for a win at least for my conscience.

Did I say dang? Dang!

Honestly, I don't see that much of a difference between McCain and Obama. IMO, they are both unacceptably insane, just in different ways. Obama is more of a civil libertarian in some ways, like he wrote a bill that became law in Illinois that requires all police interrogations to be videotaped. that's a pretty powerful addition of protection for the public in dealing with the police IMO. On the other hand, he's anti-gun rights, but then McCain is anti-free speech so what do you do?

Cage match.

There can be only one survivor...

I don't understand why Barr wasn't pulling a Ron Paul of his own and running for the GOP nomination, nor endorsing Paul himself (unless he was, none of the info I've read about him says so) but waiting until a week or so before the Lp convention to announce he's officially in. Though it's not like the train wreck that the Lp nominees right now look like will really hinder him too much. All he'd have to do is stand next to some (most) of them to look the least insane.

Don't settle for VP, Dif. You went three-for-three with your first proposals right out of the box. More! More!

.

Barr is not that much of a libertarian (big L or otherwise). He voted for the PATRIOT Act, he supported the war on (some) drugs, and he's not committed to getting us out of Iraq ASAP.

It's more likely I'll be voting for my pastor, Dr. Chuck Baldwin, of the Constititution Party. He's not my perfect candidate either, but I can vouch that he's a good and honorable man.

I'm now watching for trace-evidence of any substance for your Clinton theory (that she has some secret weapon against Obama keeping her in the race). Though I cannot see anything which would specifcally rule OUT that possibility, all the signs point to power hunger and self-delusion as the prime motivators behind her loitering.

There is still time Poete. There's still time.
