Well, duh.

If your job is to felate, and you are not able to, move on...

Adapting.

If this isn't tended, this super"equal" treatment, people will force change or just ignore the law. Essentially, that is how life works in places like Mexico... lots of laws, laws everyone ignores... laws enforced only on the peons who cannot afford to bribe or gun their way through the laws. Nifty, wouldn't it be a whole lot better to change the laws to enforceable and right levels, and then enforce those laws?

Oh, and the backlash on this is going to be huge. As are a few other backlashes. Like Bane indicates, civility is much less than skin deep. Well, I am hoping I get to do some white-water before I have to wade through waves of zombies, reprobates, and fools. Woot, either way. *laughs*

My guess is that if they aren't allowing her to go on light duty, it's because they don't have a policy for allowing people unqualified to do their job due to a physical condition to be on the job. Being a cop is always a physical job, unless you are so high up that you are really more of a manager than a real cop.

Right on for that PD for sticking to their guns. No pun intended.

I suspect that if it were a larger department, there would be some desk jobs to scam as part of her proposal for "light duty", forcing the few non-pregnant women and the guys to pick up her slack. But alas for her, it is a small shop with only 62 cops.

I wonder what her employment contract says? It's not usual for police departments to push back like this...her contract must be pretty clear on the issue...
