Don't you mean invade Gaza and drive the Palestinians into Egypt/the sea?

There is a canned answer in the Middle East. It is "let me bury my father first."

The use if it excuses one from helping. For example, Mohammed's could ask Achmed for help with something and Achmed would say "let me bury my father first" if he didn't want to help. How can Mohammed argue against an excuse like that?

It doesn't matter if Achmed's father is remodeling his house by moving the rocks from here to over there, it's just as good an excuse.

There is a joke where the punch line is "any excuse is as good as the next one, isn't it?" but I don't think that's true. Some excuses are so obvious they are like a slap in the face when the message is 'something trivial will stop me from helping'.

That works too Mike! I can live with that.

So now the excuse AJW is, "Let me give my people bread first." HAHA

I don't know why the starving Egyptians don't leave. Not only did the Hebrew slaves have bread, they had beer and they got fed up (sorry for the bad pun) and left.

You did warn me ahead of time. That IS a bad pun!

Was it Dinesh D'Souza that wrote that Christianity was the greatest force for good on this planet?

Seems we're getting an objective lesson in this right now...

The only thing keeping the Israelis from wiping out Gaza is the same thing that has always stopped them...Their own good consciences. There is no Arab army strong enough to stop them if they wanted to do that. And i doubt many of them really care about the Palestinians enough to come to their rescue with anything but words and an occasional support check.

But the real question, the burning issue at hand is this:

Do they get to wear the poofy hats?
