Gravatar He earned his benefits. I think he should keep them. They're not related to the question of whether he should serve some prison time (I think he should have to serve up to a few years) and pay restitution. In the mean time, while he's serving in prison, they should confiscate all of his earnings from his pension and use that money to provide an even higher restitution to his victims.

That, and as much as I dislike the Democrats, he should be forced to buy them up to $50 worth of bumper stickers and t-shirts for any political cause that they like.

Gravatar Wow, I misread that. I must be slow today. I thought he was plastering the cars with the bumper stickers as part of the defacing. Ok, my sympathy has just dropped even more. Five years in the brig with no benefits for this anti-free speech @$$hole.

And you know how much I like Bush...

Gravatar The article isn't very clear. He blacked out the Bush stickers and then wrote F*** Bush in letters 18" high on the sides of the vehicles. One car alone had $2500 in damages. He started doing it at the time of the election and continued doing it for about 7 months. He carried around paint in his vehicle just for the purpose of defacing cars. An enlisted man would be busted down to E-1 (the lowest rank), then booted out with a bad conduct discharge.

Gravatar If this were a conservative vandalizing liberals' cars, it would be a national scandal, and he would be dishonorably discharged without benefits after serving a full sentence at hard labor. I no longer have any confidence in any branch of the government to do the right thing. Maybe al Qaeda slipping a nuke into DC wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Gravatar He is an absolute disgrace. Vandalizing cars is beyond juvenile. This is a grown man...maybe he should have just pleaded insane.
