Good evening, Ms. Hilal! I just wanted to let you know that when I teach my Writing Seminar class each quarter here in New York State, I choose Darraj's _Scheherazade's Legacy_ as the springboard text, and absolutely LOVE facilitating discussion on your poems in that volume (as well as bringing in ghaflah... and other great selections from other works). You do an amazing job authenticating the Arab-American voice. I love it. If you are ever in upstate New York, I and I'm sure my students would love to meet you and hear you speak and/or read from your works!!

hi dima

good bye and keep going

mahmoud

Dima Hilal's poems have an unvarnished appeal which combines oldage charm of a pure life and a world we seek everyday but which escapes us just by a whisker.I shall translate some of her poems in Bengali.I wish her all the best. She is another Akhmatova in the making.

Dima ya 7elwa,
It was a pleasure hearing you once again recite your beautiful lines of poetry at the dinner/charity event this past weekend. Your performances are always memorable! Let me know if you will be performing again at UCI. Hope to see you soon!

Wow. The poetry I've read on this website is so inspirational. It makes me want to write and write and write, just pouring the thoughts out of my mind on to the paper. I love your work, and I hope to read more.
You've just inspired a teenager.
:]

I didn't mean to sound so bold as on my previous post. But you are a wonderful person. I am glad to have read your work. Thank you.

Thank you for your poems. I hope you can benefit from my website for your next poem.

I just want to say how wonderful your work is. We will not have real peace until we all learn to see each other as human beings - not just the faceless "other" that it is so easy for some to kill. Dima, thanks to people like you there is still hope.

Salaams Mademoiselle Dima: I was pleasantly surprised to find your website while googling around reading about the war on Lebanon, and found your site. You are living up to your potential as a great poet, with lots of passion and insight. I was going through my photo album, and stumbled across photographs of yourself attending June Jordan's October 1996 poetry reading in Berkeley that I attended, an event that moved me profoundly. I am honored to have experienced that moment with you, and am proud of your achievements so far....
