"Since President Bush took office in January 2001, the Senate has confirmed 208 of his judicial appointees and rejected 10. About 20 nominations are pending, including seven that Democrats have blocked by filibuster." -- Houston Chronicle Apr 30 2005 http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssis...politan/ 3161012

Where does this 50% number come from?

That may not be the full breakdown. I believe that link is only the breakdown of *appellate* nominations. http://committeeforjustice.org/c.../files/ 16.shtml

I believe if you look at the statistics for *all* judicial nominees you will find that GW has a 95% confirmation rate.

Granted not all judicial seats are equal. The appellate courts are by far the most powerful.
