The liberals did not create this situation....the Republicans did with their pulled themselves up by their bootstraps while they use infrastructure more than the rest of us, screw the middle class and labor bullshyte. They benefit off the backs of the majority of the population, and their unadulterated greed is the single root cause of the current economic crisis.
This is the same budget crisis that CA has EVERY Year, because of the damned legislators constantly bucking for position. It's the same budget crisis that was used to justify a recall of Gray Davis, only to have the same problem that we have every year.
Many Californians, and many of them conservatives, are hurting right now, since CA has the 3rd highest rate of unemployment in the country and some of the highest foreclosure rates as well. Add to that that many of these same folks will now not get the relief of their tax refunds, and won't have that cash to spend will only send the state into further crisis.
So Mr. Taking Delight in Others Pain, May you reap what you sow.

The first comment is mostly bunk, as the crisis comes from a Democrat intransigence, state and local, to cut budgets and a larcenous giveaway to the SEIU and the prison guards during the 90's Internet boom.
But...
The Republicans in the Legislature are setting themselves up for blame by sticking to a no-new-tax position in the face of a $41 billion deficit -- one third of the entire state budget, due to a pledge they made in 2006.
At this point they should be guiding the inevitable tax increase into something painful for the Democrats to maintain in good years (sales tax, cuts in standard deductions, etc) while insisting on massive budget cuts and mandatory give-backs by the unions, particularly on pensions. THey have a wish list of other things they can add, too, but they have to agree on some new taxes or the state goes into default.
And of course, the Democrats' use of the checkbook will be ignored while the Republicans' guarding of the purse will be pilloried as the case.

1) Please provide specific and referenced examples of how Republicans use infrastructure more than “the rest of us”.
2) Please provide specific and referenced examples of California Republican “unadulterated greed” and explain how those specific examples correlate to being the “single root cause of the current economic crisis”.
I’m sure everyone would love to hear your informed opinion as opposed to the tripe you provided above.
Maybe we can get teachers to accept registered warrants in place of salary for the two months they have off in the summer. They could use the warrants to buy lunch at the school cafeteria.
