I can't believe you're citing the UK in the poster about socialised medicine! It's very insulting. You won't find many people in the UK who would choose a US style health care system, it is regularly vilified as an example of something we don't want to copy.

I've lived in the USA and the UK and have been to hospital in both, with comprehensive health insurance in the US and on the NHS in the UK.

I would never choose to go to hospital under the American system. For me, the UK system is far more likely to produce proportionate health care focussed on patient well being and quality of life, instead of the over-medication, unnecessary hedging against liability, wastefulness and unconcern for the individual which the USA's system evinced.

And I'm well paid enough to afford adequate cover in the USA!
