what really beats me is the fact that i assume the muslim countries dont understand the whole essense about freedom to. How can they understand something they never have tried themselves. if they tasted freedom then they would maybe understand.
Im happy and proud to be danish, especially in these times when muslim countries kind of pin it out for us.
What really pisses me off is that all the countries with the same free rights dont follow up behind Denmark and state the free right to speak, they just sit behind and dont practice the fredom to speak, i find that sad.

I am in America. I am outraged at the blatant attempt at censorship. Many brave men have fought & died across the world to establish & then to maintain freedom. Rediculing Prophets and insulting other religions are not freedom of expression. Let me introduce u to a couple of documents so that u don't bark without knowledge:
1- It is stated in the International World Federation Council of Media and Press People that 'media ppl must be alert of risks that may arise as a result of prejudice and discrimination implied by the media.The Council would exert every possible effort to aviod being involved in such calls, which are based on prejudice and RELIGION,sex or other social differences discrimination.'
2-The UN Human Rights Agency decree of 12th April 2005 insisted on the ban of distortions and vicious attacks against religions ,especially Islam, which had been strongly attacked in the last few years.
and there are lots more that prohibit insulting or rediculing other ppl's religion or religious figures.
What really disappointed me was the negative attitude of the Danish govt and population. Their silence was an implicit acceptence of what was published and that's why we decided to boycott their products.
If u ppl don't care about ur religion anymore, we do. so if u have any moral values at all u should respect that and mind ur own business.

God does not need to defend himself, since no one can do him neither good nor harm. And he is capable of defending those who believe in him, but he tests people and lets them from their own free will decide their choices.
To be FREE is to learn what all sides of the picture is, then choose your side and respect what others chose. Mocking is easy anybody can mock anything, respect, on the other hand is hard to do.
The one truth that no one on this planet can deny is that: all of us will die one day. Where will you go afterwards is the question you need to figure out for yourself as Freely as you would.

But Jyllands Posten did not depict the opinion of the Danish people. We are not an islamophobic country, and rumors of Quran burning are not supported by the vast majority of Danes but by a minority of people who took the burning of our flag personally.
Hopefully this will not happen, because hateful acts like that have no place in Danish culture.

God had revealed messages to them for mankind and all those prophets directed the mankind in accordance with the revelations they received from God. After prophet Moses, when Jeses (Christ) came, the Jues did not believed him and the Jues religion formed. When Prophet Muhammed came, the people of Christ did not believed him and they form the Christ religion.
The first human on earth, Adam and Havva (Eve) received messages from God and they lived in accordance with the message of God. After that more than 100 thousand prophets arrived in this earth with the messages of God, all of them are them proposed the religion of Islam.
Prophet Muhammed got message from A'lla which is the holy Quran. The Quran is the light and direction of the human beings on earth until the last day.
People who wish to read and study it should do so, as it is their duty and way for success. In Islam, there is no force, if one wish denay it, they can do so, and if one believe it he can practice it. If he believe and practice it, is is good for him only and he will get success and progress in this world and hereafter.
Islam teaches to love and respect for all human beings without looking their religion or creed. The better human is he who live in accordance with the directions of A'lla and do good deeds. A'lla evaluates man with their deed, not with their country of colour or family.
If a man wish to get paradise and success in the here after he should belive in God and accept his directions which is in the last text of God, the holy Quran. It is available every where, any body can read it and if they study it carefully, they can find out it is from God.
People who insult prophets, do so because of ignorance, so they must try of study the history of prophets and religion. If they do so, after the death, they will get reward from A'lla. They are doing some work to provoke sentimental muslims and make troubles every where.

As for answering your question, I would probably sue whoever did that or ignore it, I am not sure. I never postulated that everyone was doing this, but I feel that there is a lot of anger (from both sides) that is getting in the way of a constructive debate.
Also, many Danes have actually studied the Quran (I admittedly have not, although I probably should to fully understand) because the muslims living here are a part of our society and we are interested in debating (not attacking) and opening up for a better understanding of one another. This newspaper made a horrible judgemental error in testing the boundaries of muslim tolerance towards religious insult, but this is partly because they didn't expect this to turn into an international debate. This does not excuse them for being idiots. Danish Muslims and non-muslims alike are used to individual citizens being morons once in a while.
Both sides of this discussion make themselves heard in both positive and negative context from time to time, adding fire to the debate that our cultural boiling pot of a country has become.
The latest Danish citizen in the medias attention is Imam Abu Laban who *invented* Danish-muslim groups that were supposedly against Denmark. When confronted, he called it *the truth plus interest*.
He expressed surprise that Libya, Marocco, Egypt and Saudi are boycotting Denmark and has condemned this action.
But not on Al Jazeera where he praises it... I dont know what to think.
Anyway, you'll all be glad to hear that noone showed up for the Quran burning today. I told you so!
The Danish government is building another Mosque (sp?) worth 50 mio dkk (ca. 8.1 mio USD)and *Islamisk trossamfund* (Islamic belief-society) is putting together a peace delegation including representatives from some of the boycotted Danish companies that is scheduled to visit the middle east some time soon.
Just because the Koran bans images of Mohammed doesn't mean non-Muslims have to submit to this. Saudi Arabia bans people from even posessing a abible or crucifix. Isn't that ludicrous? Really this is an excellent opportunity for all muslims to expose and teach others what is Islam and what was the life of prophets Muhammed (pbuh). I have seen some of them reacting inappropriately. Insulting prophet Muhammed is not a new thing, as it was happened on the time of prophet itself. Study how the holy Quran replied for such insults and we have to follow that way.
Most of the Westers have been taught Islam from its enimies, not through the Holy Quran or the life history of prophet Muhammad. That is why they say 'the founder of Islam is prophet Muhammad'. But actually, Islam is the religion of all prophets, like, the first human on earth Adam & Havva (Eve), Nuh, Abraham (Ibrahim), Ismail, Ishaq, Soloman (Sulaiman), Moses, Jeses (Essa), and the last prophet Muhammad. There is no difference between one prophet to another, but the only difference is that Muhammed is the last prophets and the holy Quran is the last text from God.
The holy Quran revealed for all mankind until the last day. The safety and originally of the holy Quran is guaranteed by God Hiself throgh the Quran. And we can see there is no change in it, as it is the same that it revealed to Muhammed. There is close relation with Muslims, Christian and Jews, as they are all the people of God's Books, and a muslim man is permitted to marry the chaste women from Christian and Jews religion.
It is obligatory of all men on earth to believe in the holy Quran and live a life in accordance with its directions, as it is the last text of God.
Wester people are not the enimies of muslims, but most of them are not aware and studied what is Islam. The duty of muslims is to show them what is Islam by witnessing them as the best people on earth. Only by name as a muslim, there is no benefit, if only they lead a life in accordance with the directions of Allah and prophet Muhammed, a man become a muslim. A real muslim will never keep hate and prejudice in his mind, but sympathy upon ignorance and tolerance upon mistreatment and try to teach them through their excellent behaviour and work, as the holy Quran orders, defent evil with good.
The present cartoons are nothing to bother, as they can never defame Islam or muslims, if muslims lead a good life and stand as a witness for excellent deeds, no body can create misunderstanding in the minds of others.
But one thing is important, all the good men should make their voice upon these kind of bad behaviour as this is making split in the hearts of various religious people and it creates damage to the smooth life and culture.

The muslims are not trying to force censorpship or deprive anyone of his freedom. Muslims are so close emotionally to their religion and Prophet Mohamed. Imagine, how would you feel if one morning you wake up and find a journal making fun of your parent (this is just an example), you will get offended and pissed off. I find it hilarious that small newspaper from a small country (whose citizens I, in my experience, have found to be overwhelmingly intelligent, friendly and tolerant) publishes a few pictures that would have been seen by, what, a tenth of the population of Denmark..then, thanks to the massive overreaction from a religion whose followers appear to competing with each other to see who can be the most outraged, the pictures are now on websites all over the world and being circulated by email to tens (maybe hundreds) of millions of people! Bit of an own goal there! The astonishingly threatening tone of a lot of these posts also contradicts the claim that the cult of Islam is a peaceful one! As I have studied many faiths and rejected them all as either ancient myths, tools to control the populace, excuses to go to war and conquer other nations or simply money making ventures, I am comfortable with your warnings that I will burn in hell, because I have also studied the sciences to quite an advanced level and believe that when I die, my body and brain will cease to function and...well, thats it - so thanks for your concern but I'll take my chances. The world is now witness to yet another example of Muslims as their own worst enemies.
Hoardes of 'devout Muslims' chant 'death to ______ (fill in country of your choice)' in the streets, threaten death to all, wear masks while claiming to proudly stand up for their cause, kick in doors and kidnap non-believers. All because of a handful of cartoons.
They scream 'we will not be disrespected' while forcing their women to cover their faces and walk behind them, burning any foreign flag they can get their hands on, teaching their children with maps which do not display countries of non-believers, and read from a holy book that advises the slaying of infidels (read: any human who does not believe what Muslims believe).
Is the whole Muslim religion bad? Of course not. Probably for the same reason that all Danes, French, British and Americans are bad. But try to convince 16-year-old Muslim boys wandering the streets of the Middle East with automatic weapons.

I donot understand why freedom is so despised in the muslim world and why criticism and questioning of ones faith are met by cries of 'behead' and 'stone' and 'death'. I am catholic, and I am proud that I and others can question my faith, after all it makes you understand what you are trying to believe in. Blind faith is so dangerous and well, do we need more evidence to prove that? I do understand some of the cartoons have caused offence, and yes, maybe i wouldnt draw some of them. But then again, the editor was asking cartoonists of their interpretations about the prophet. You forget, cartoonist are called cartoonists because they can bring humour in their drawings and in the west, it is in us to satirise most things we consider taboo. It doesn't mean we don't respect your faith. I thought the painting of mohammed and the sunset was lovely and of good taste.
These cartoons were widley ignored by most people when first published, but thanks to the outrageous response to their printing, they have unfortunately and undeserveldy become very popular. And this will no doubt have encouraged many reoccurences.
It is true, the media has been subject to self censorship when it comes to Islam (fearing reprecussions), and not so forgiving to other religions. The Danes were just trying to highlight that point.
There have been many controversies surrounding religion and art in recent years, and this will go on, it is us evolving.
At the end of the day, this silly controversy is diverting our attention from more important things happening, in your country and ours. Theres mouths to feed, diseases to cure, women to give rights to, killings to stop, tears to turn to laughter, hate to turn to love, and war to peace.
So yes, people may have offended other people, and people protested. the point is made. It is time to move on. It is going to happen again, to you and to me, and to everyone! We have offended each other and have insulted each others religions countless times. No one is without sin here, so no once can really cast the stone. And it is really absurd accusing the Jews for this cartoon episode, not that I am a Zionist or anything.

Just to make my last point clear, About human wearing clothes it is his choice just to not be naked (not nice looking) but I can wear pants or shorts or even nothing if I want... (Naked beach is great Example but in Christianity GOD will not punish me for wearing what I want thats Also applied to women.. But In Islam it is not a choice..
