although some people complain about the not so good mcs, group home's "livin proof" is one of my alltime favorite LPs. all tracks on there are killer, no filler.

btw. your site layout breaks in IE6...

the first time i heard the beat to "livin proof" i think my neck was sore for like three days. straight bangin. unfortunately primo really did make that group shine as the emceeing is pretty ehh...

Gravatar i think this album was primo's overall best production work on an lp. he may have better tracks on individual songs but as a full lp his tracks here are just amazing.

Gravatar classic album, but I have a soft spot for Lil Dap, so bought their second, virtually free Primo-free LP as well. Not a classic, but quite nice, especially if you like Agallah

Gravatar thanks for the IE heads up. should be resolved.

Gravatar premier did NOT say that.

Gravatar Chris -

I mean Group Home wasn't the best group now. My beats made them sound good and Dap had a dope little voice, but Dap's rhymes ain't that ill. They are okay and he got a little look to him. He got an ill little street look. But look who's still going? Me and Guru are still going because we ain't got no time for this.

Gravatar Actually saw Dap last summer touring with Jeru. it was an outdoor performance and Jeru and all the other performers were trying to keep it p.g and then dap came on and just cussed down the entire place, lol

Gravatar Never really dug DJ Premier all that much -- always thought his beats were pretty vanilla.

Gravatar GHUNK!

yeah whatever.

So anyway the "Livin Proof" is the best Primo produced album for me as well. Or maybe "Step In The Arena" is but you know. It's thereabouts and with the Group Home being so downright wrong it's a truer testement to Primo's premiere status.

"Up Against The Wall (Getaway Car Mix)" is one of my 25 or so favourite Hiphop tracks of all time.

Just out of interest does anyone have anything positive to say about Malachi?

Gravatar true classic. i can't think of any of my friends who hasn't at least those 2 12". when i first heard livin proof i played it for about a week non stop.

Gravatar Malachi is funny. A mag I used to edit did a little spoof 'words from the nutcracker' section. I liked his straightup thug flow, but his lyrics are ridiculously simplistic for that era of hip-hop.
