I think "Today"/"T.R.O.Y" is one of the best pieces of evidence for why sampling is good. That riff is just a little flash of dopeness in the original, but PR loops into four minutes of heaven.

it fucking sucks cause there is so much resistance to sampling now and with the emergence of technology a lot of producers don't even try anymore.
does anyone have a copy of Honeysuckle Breeze they can give me?

listening to the Honeysuckle joint (i hadn't even heard that before!) it reminds me of sitting in the basement just listening for hours to records that have that sound you're looking for, and upon finding it thinking "fools ain't even checking for this one!"
