It's definitely a grower of a track.
If it is confirmed as Shadow (and the later stages of the track certainly sound like him) then it's good to see him mixing up styles once again.
Definitely wack, as a previous comment said, but I still think it's pretty cool... mostly because of that fact, really.
it still isn't a confirmed shadow production. Also please consider the rumors that this track will be on Shadow's next album as 'not true'

i'm not in love with it, but definitely thought it was worth throwing out there. and i agree with junior that the breakdown at the end sounds like josh.
If you're not into the "New Bay" sound, then I can see why you might find this wack, but as someone who likes Keak/Turf AND Shadow, it's fucking great to hear them work together. And yeah, you CAN tell it's Shadow, especially compared to the standard New Bay production. The triplets on the chorus, the way he skips the second snare, and esp. the synth melodies after the verses, as someone else mentioned.
Basically, fuck the haters, this shit slaps.

Anyone who's a real DJ Shadow fan should stop and appreciate the history of the Bay and realize what a bunch of UC Davis kids were listening to before Asia Born even cut wax. yeah I can't imagine too many backpacker's getting down with the new bay shit, but I'm with some of these other comments. Its good to Shadow picking up on the new bay sound. and he definitely has a feel on it.

1) Can't tell if it's Shadow or not. He's been branching out with the Keane remix and then the Funky Skunk mix, using a lot more electronic instruments (reaktor, etc.)
2) Don't dis Keak, don't dis Quannum. They are both dope, and there's no reason all the alt/concious/underground/whatever the fuck sound can't mix with the New Bay and Oakland. Keak is a new voice and FINALLY Oakland is breaking through.
3) If it is Shadow then I am even more excited. What is his music if not progression? Can't go calling shit wack just because it's not that one niche sound you love. Open your minds.
