I would have picked up this album on the strength of the cover picture alone.
It's a bonus that the music lives up to it (though not as expected)

That title track really sounds like something from 'Mr. Flood's Party'...rare, came out the same year...have you heard of it?

This has to be one of the strangest band-name-band-sound combinations ever.
Cool stuff.
Also, I LOVE the dynamics on the title track.

FOOD was a band from Libertyville, Illinois; home of Tom Morello of Rage and Adam Jones of Tool. One of those 60's type outfits who all lived together and practiced in an old barn outside of town. They signed with Capitol the same time as Grand Funk ... GF sold more LPs and got the continued label backing. One of the LP cuts was used on the soundtrack of a porno B-movie called 'The Babysitter' during a lesbian love scene. Update: Steve White is in Chi and doing xian music. Bill Wukovich now known as Billy Steele has played with the Dead and done lots of studio and independent work. Erik Scott Flipowitz now known as Eric Scott also played with the Dead and is now ??. Barry Mraz became the producer, engineer for STYX during their heyday. He died of natural causes a decade or so ago. Ted Ashford appears on many jazz LPs. The LP still stands as a cool psych experience. The back photo was taken at a Catholic Seminary.
