The production of Stepney and Richard Evans make just about anything on Cadet worth picking up. Even Woody Herman sounds legitimately funky!

I slept on Ramsey Lewis for a long time as well--now every time I see an LP I grab it. Great post. There'll be one on Soul Shower this week on his Maiden Voyage LP.

No doubt it's a great album, Funky Serenity is one of my favourites of Lewis's catalogue.

Im assuming "Hurt So Bad" was a cover also? one of the most complete and Soulful instrumentals I can think of.
