How Could You Do It?Thanks for dropping this one Guys.

Gravatar big tunes! yep yep pure soulfilled shivers.. respect.

Gravatar I worked with Ed for three years and I know the problem with this recording is not Ed's singing or writing;its the fact that these songs should have been song by other artists. In particular,The Impressions. Ed's lyrics are clever because he writes about things that no one else would even think of writing because of the commercial appeal that may be lacking due to the lyricial idea. The track "Where Did All Those Signs Go" is speaking of the southern billboards that read, "N..... don't let the sun catch you," which was a threat to kill you if you were caught in town at sunset.
The bottom line is that these songs does not match Ed's vocal style. That's why Ed Townsend will always refered to as the writer of "Let's Get It On" because he make other singers shine with his gift to write great songs. The TOWNSEND,TOWNSEND,TOWNSEND&ROGERS LP is another collection of really great songs recorded with David Rogers, his sons Michael and the late David Townsend (of the R&B trio SURFACE).Check it out.
