Ok, so by today's standards the lyrics of some of their songs is a little yellow around the edges, but the chops that these guys had was phenomenal! Have you listened to Cloudburst? Jon Hendricks is sizzlin'. And you should check out a live album he did called Boppin where he, I think his sister and Wynton Marsalis and others remake Everybody's Boppin. Wynton surprised the hell out of me and tore it up! The audience roared! I have it and will gladly send you the track if you want it. Just tell me what e-mail address to send it to.
BTW, I just listend to these tracks again and I'm sorry but I LOVE them. But I'm a singer so it's a different appreciation (although the band I work with likes them too!). It took me YEARS to finally nail Cloudburst and when I finally performed it, people went nuts!
