Junior,
Why don't you try giving Traffic a spin. It is fairly well documented that Steve Winwood was one of Jimi's favorite keyboard players to jam with. 'Smiling Phases' is a great two-disc overview. Lots of rocking fuzzy guitar, soulful, funky goodness. They have some pretty sweet album art as well.

It's funny, I just discovered Purple Image through Pandora and was wondering what the deal was with these guys.

If you haven't already heard of the Chico Magnetic Band, you might want to check them out. They definitely have a late 60's/early seventies fuzz rock thing going on. Hell, they even do a cover of Crosstown Traffic. I would be happy to share a couple songs through e-mail or my blog. Drop me a line!

Great rock-soul "Living In The Ghetto" more rock than soul for me this genre is pretty rare to listen, thanks,

Great songs as usual.
I read on some other blog that Hendrix start a band with Winwood and Arthur (LOVE) Lee. Wouldve blown away both Band of Gypsies and Blind Faith.

Hey b and Kevin, cheers for the tips, will get my fuzzed digging on and try and track down some of their stuff!
Jerry, I would be tempted to part with a piece of my anatomy to hear Lee and Hendrix's musical talents combined.
