The Gaslamp Killers mix is incredible, I'm glad it is number 1 on your list as well. I have been a fan since first hearing this mix a while back, I picked up Rocky Road 1 & 2, and his mixes from Dublab.
I just read this on the controller7 board.
http://www.controller7.com/ forum...=gaslamp+killer
Read near the end of the first page and the start of the second.
It basicly says that GLK (Dj Willo) didn't do this mix, some other people did using his records. MHE (Adam Manella and Mike Raymond Russell) did the mix. WIllo then re-released the mix without them knowing and changed his name to GLK.
Anyway, I have no idea if this is true but I thought you might be able to varify some of this info as your in the blog world. It might be all lies and I'm making it worse by posting this. Maybe you can clear it up?
The mix is still amazing regardless who did it and whoever did do it is mad talented and should make more mixes. I hope this get's cleared up.
peace

Gravatar I know this is lazy, but any idea where to get a hold of these mixes? The GLK mix especially, if you've got a link. Thanks.

Gravatar I mentioned how to find the MF Doom and Sound Advice mixes. For the Gaslamp Killer, Monk One, and Arthur King I think the best bet is ebay or your local record shop. If you live in California, Amoeba will stock these occasionally; for NY try turntablelab, and for Chicago maybe Dusty Groove...but elsewhere it is all about the internet hunt. Happy hunting.

Gravatar i respect all those choices. . . but you should def check out dj's cutler & optimus prime's late '06-'07 scion sampler 16, as well as dj cutler & scott down's "blue collar funk: crate diggin' in buffalo '69-'89." holla if you need help obtaining these. one.

Gravatar ADM = the s in killers. This mix is basicly my first pro tools session. Wil has been kind enough to pay me $750.

Gravatar thanks for the info Adam. Keep up the great work! Just got the 10" and it's amazing.

Gravatar Great shout out to sound advice. That mix is incredible. If you're in the NYC area, they're having a release party for their new 12" on saturday, May 31st at Galapagos, Brooklyn. Details at http://www.crooked-disco.com
