The title cut - i believe released ahead of the album as a single a year earlier, in 1972 - is absolutely gorgeous, and, to these ears at least, is the definitive missing link between the Stax sound and the Stones' "Fool to Cry".

funny, ive dug up the 45 today knowing nothing about it. But, hey, on Stax. and, listening, i was thinkin how southern soul it was, and very good.

Hi. I love the song "I've Been Lonely for so Long". I was introduced to it via Mick jagger's wonderful rendition over 10 years ago. At the time, I was working at The Sound of Birmingham recording studios. I was looking around the studio one day in my spare time and saw a framed 45 record on the wall - it was Frederick's! Terribly excited, I asked the owner about it and he said Mr. Knight had cut the record there years ago. WOW! I read on the internet that Mr Knight lived in Bessemer, AL in the 70's. Does anyone know if he is still alive? I sure would like to meet him.
