Gravatar Many Iraq experts declared at the end of 2005 that the US was at a crossroads. Retreat now with head held high, or wait until it was too late.

Too late means taking increasing casualties with no possibility of a pullout, because it would mean the insurgents have won --with all the regional implications that entails.

BTW, things are not joyful in Kurdistan. The Turks have put the screws to them and their economy is collapsing. The state is not viable.

We know that Bush wants to maintain those military bases in Iraq at all costs --and it will cost all.

Gravatar bases in iraq after we pull out would virtually gurantee another 9/11.

"this is bill clintons war and when he falls flat on his face it's his problem" -some republican 1999

Gravatar letting this war go on any longer is a failure for democracy.
