Gravatar Gone With The Wind = one of the best movies of all time. And it has a fair bit of action, more than most casual observers suspect.

Thank her for showing you that one. Cold Mountain, not so much.

Gravatar My favorite critic commends regarding Speed Racer:

"the esthetic equivalent of needles in eyeballs"

"what might result from the explosion of a Crayola factory"

"I can sit through just about anything, but I draw the line at two hours and 15 minutes of fuchsia vomit."

Gravatar commends? ... comments. I swear I typed a 't' there.

Gravatar I loved the movie too I saw it twice!

Gravatar LYT - Gone With the Wind was a special kind of torture I only endured because it was her birthday. And you couldn't pay me to watch it again.

Gravatar LYT - Cold Mountain we refused to finish and walked out half way through it, birthday or not, it was not worth it.

Gravatar "what might result from the explosion of a Crayola factory

Oh noes! Speed Racer has teh bright colors! They should've been authentic to the original noir vision of the kid-aimed goofy anime series and kept it in grays and blacks with the ocassional dark green for contrast!

Gravatar did as much justice to its source material as Transformers did to its.

Some Transformers fans might take issue with that ("flames on Optimus = nipples on Batman!"). Not me, though.

Actually, Speed did one thing right that Transformers didn't -- incorporating the original theme into the score. When the trailer for Transformers did that I was excited, then bummed that the movie neglected it completely.

Gravatar its so depressing to see speed racer crash and burn like that..i really expected it to kick iron man off the charts..check out this crazy stand up comedy clip i found about crappy cars..wonder if speed would look just as hot riding one of these..funniest thing ive seen in months

enjoy

Gravatar Well, they didn't really push SR very well. The theater we went to didn't have it playing in any of the "opening weekend" theaters, which they were still using for Iron Man, and it had about half the showtimes that Iron Man did.

Gravatar Funny video! =)

Gravatar The Wachowski bros certainly put a lot of effort into making Speed Racer... the movie overall looked and felt like a cross between anime, a kaleidoscope, that Flintstones movie, a video game and the Dukes of Hazard
