Has anyone considered why at this particular time the mollas' regime should produce khatami, the smiling face of "reason" and "reformism" of the regime, for a western audience? Wouldn't this be a crafty way to poke around a little and test the western sanctions' resolve (as pitifully puny as those sanctions are, with talks basically about some vague travel bans on regime reps.) by the ultimate master of fraud himself?

Hasn't anyone learned that this is what mollas know best: undermining, confusing, dividing, and ultimately quashing any stance against them?

Has the State Dept. even considered that by allowing khatami into the country it is playing -- again -- squarely into the hands of the scheming mollas, who have NOTHING to offer the world in guidance, but are masters at the art of self-preservation??? They will prick, and prick again, and burst any bubble of hope or resolve, they will play mind games, inject doubt and uncertainty and confusion and division until they overpower and dominate. Yet, the whole world continues to ignores the Achilles heel of this regime, the Iranian people, and tries and tries yet again to engage -- and thereby empower -- the turbaned schemers!!!
