I can't even imagine having to go in the water when it is cold and raining. Good on you, that you got through this! Although you may have never wished to be a certified life guard, you must be proud to be one.

Believe it or not, I was a Red Cross certified lifeguard, lifeguard instructor, and swimming instructor for a number of years. Unfortunately I let my certifications lapse. I wish I hadn't done that.
So are you having a good time lifeguarding?

Well, at least it gives me an opportunity to get a couple of the kids I work with out of the house and take them to a few spots that aren't public beaches but are really good for swimming. It also gives me an opportunity to get out canoeing with them, which I wouldn't be able to do without life guard certification. In a sense I guess it's good to have a job that helps me stay in shape. Keeps me young, too. Thanks for visiting, Khalil, and for commenting.
