Your funds may have run low, but it sounds as if your positive attitude never did! Happy to hear you found a job, and that you're enjoying the Texas skies.

rdl,
Thanks for the congrats. It sure is a lot different here, and each day has an uncanny way of presenting new and exciting adventures. I'm at the library with 7 minutes left on my time. I've got my computer almost set up, but I don't have web service yet.
Good to hear from you.

Thanks for your affirming comment. It's going to take a few weeks more to get back up to speed, but once I have web service and don't have to depend on the library for access, I'll be making the rounds.

Lorna,
Good to see you come by. I like the caps. It's good to shout every now and then, even when we don't intend to. Eventually I plan on getting a lop top, especially since Houston has Wi-Fi everywhere.

Yayyy!! Good for you! I am so glad you found a job and that you are happy in your new home. Houston is a big place - and the new opportunities there might be quite exciting, indeed!
WOW - What a small world - I supervised medicaid specialist positions at one time when I did social work in GA! I just dragged my husband to the computer to show him what an interesting world it is - that I would find someone doing that same kind of job in Maine was pretty amazing!
Sending you many good wishes for comfort and joy. Sky

Sky,
Thanks for coming by. I started my new position today, and the company I'll be working for seems even better than I had thought. Your kind wishes are appreciated.

Congratulations, Scot! You were flying by the seat of your pants there, weren't you? We've been there also. Glad to hear that you arrived safely in Houston also.

Glad to hear that you've found your niche. Congratulations.
One of these days you need to make the trip up the road to Emporia to visit us. Would love to have you.

Tanda,
"Flying by the seat of my pants. . ."
Boy, you're not kidding. The move here was one of the biggest gambles I've taken in awhile, but it's worked out great. Thanks for stopping by. As soon as I get set up more permanently, I'll be making the rounds again.

Phil:
Gee, good to hear from you. I apologize for not coming by, but once I'm set up with my web service again, I'll be by more often. Speaking of Emporia, it is just up the road from Houston. When I get more settled in, I'll definitely have to plan a weekend trip. I think it's a great idea.

When I got your email, I didn't realize that you'd moved to Houston. I don't know if your job here is fulltime or not, but we have part-time teaching gigs available now, but applications are due tomorrow (Monday, Aug. 15). See our website for details, www.witshouston.org

Thanks Lorna & rdl:
All is well and I'll soon be moving into my new apartment Sept. 15. Once in I'll finally be able to set up my computer and workspace. Trying to maintain my blog sans library computer at half hour intervals just doesn't work. Great for email and stuff like that, but not for writing. Appreciate you stopping by and checking in.

Scot- I've been out of touch for a long time. I'm glad to see you've begun to settle in there in Houston. I'm not surprised that your "temperment and personality" test shoed you in to the new job. Congrats!
best wishes, and looking forward to reading you again soon,
David

It's been since I last posted, but I hope to back at soon. It takes a little to get settled into a new area, especially Houston. Lots of new things to explore and do, though. Appreciate you stopping by.
