I suggest skiboards instead of snowboards because they are hella easier, though not as "cool." Basically it is like rollerblading down a mountain.

But if falling down a lot is your thing... haha

And as a story of encouragement, last time I went skiing, I took out a 5 year old girl by taking a spill and sliding into her, launching her into the air. I was rather sore, but she was just fine. -fin-
