There is same day shipping for sure, but the company would depend on where you're shipping to (i.e. throughout California or interstate). With same day national shipping, a lot of times trucking companies can help (example: http://www.cloughtrucking.com/).

the usps will do next day shipping to the east coast as long as you get it to them before 1pm PST. i overnighted an application to d.c. a few days ago, so i know they can do it for document-size stuff, but i dunno about packages...
