Man, I can't believe you were in town in Chicago and couldn't hang out with me.

I have never trusted ATM machines, or any card-reading machine for that matter, that sucks your card within itself, because of the exact reason your experience has highlighted. I do not want some random machine, probably out in the middle of nowhere at 3am, to eat my damn card. There are enough hassles in the world as it is, they do not need to make a card reader that will keep your card forever (especially when they are charging you for the damn service to begin with).

Bank of America is so irritating sometimes! It is just great when you lose your ATM card or don't get the correct amount of cash and you go into the branch to talk directly to a real live person and they tell you they can't help you and that you have to go over to the phone on the wall and talk via phone to customer service!
Hope you get your card quickly. They do usually mail them out pretty darn fast!
P.S. Love the dog blog. You capture their feelings so perfectly! Keep up the great work.

you know, a lot of times when peoples cards are eaen at busy atm's its a "card trap" set up by someone, who then comes back later and gets all the cards, dunno how they do it, but it involves sticking soethign into/onto the little insert hole. Nothing ever good comes of the phrase, insert into hole, I mean look, how do you think we got humanity?
