I don't know where you heard that, Jon, But it isn't true.
Your hair grows faster if you trim it regularly, but fingernails tend to grow at a fairly slow and regulated rate. Generally you'll have one that grows faster than the others (for me its the middle fingernailon my right hand, for example,) but for the most part they just grow damned slow. ...At the very least when one is comparing them to the growth rates of other things.
(Yes, I watch the Discovery channel.)
So I guess my personal data on when I've cut my nails is totally unreliable. That's the only conclusion to be drawn here!
Although another part of my brain insists that since hair and nails are both made from the same material, their growth characteristics should be BLAH HURGH ARGHUAGHL
i love talking about your peeling head and fingernails. for reals, i am a big fan of nail cutting (or any sort of nail fussing at all) and picking/peeling. just come on over to aunt maggie. she will take care of all your grody (yes, i'm stuck in the 80s) needs.
Apropos to nothing, I had to tell you that Global knives postcard is jut about the funniest and most perfect postcard ever (except for the Mythbusters card) and is made even more awesome because of the perfectly drawn Lyle sketch in the corner......

Given that your fingernails only grow 1/16th of an inch on average, I doubt there will be much noticiable difference even if it IS true your nails grow faster. Now it is definately true that your hair will grow faster if you cut it more often, and consume large amounts of protien-rich foods.
I gotta agree with chris on the shirt thing. That's too cool to pass up.

it stands to reason that everything body functions better in healthier times. maybe you're just in a good health phase.
or, maybe you're pregnant.
