I swear..I have this theory. Everytime I bring my car in for the stupidest thing. The next couple days or so, I will notice something else wrong. I think it is them. The mechanics. I think they do little things to your car while you have it there. Nothing huge, just enough to make you have to come back and spend another 50$ or so. They can do this because they know what to do to make this happen. I know it is true. Good luck with the rattle.

To a certain degree, I agree with Chicken. Do you know exactly *what* routine maintainance they performed? I have in the past had instances where screws were not fully tightened, or a wrench was left stuck somewhere it shouldn't have been.

Oh, I posted a comment on livejournal, forgetting that this is the real place where comments are supposed to go. I am so not with the correct framework.
Anyway, to reiterate my speculation in the other comment, I would like to share that I have a rattly breaking-down wheel bearing on the right front wheel. This is something that my mechanic (who I love, for various reasons, and who is in my cell phone as just "Tony" because I forget the name of his actual business) has informed me is not really necessary to fix and is also expensive, so why don't I just hold off on it.
So hold off I have done, and I have become used to the strange noise that initially made me panic that it was some kind of serious structural or break problem. It is a scratchy, metallic, rattling sort of noise. It happens most often when turning, obviously, because it relates to the wheels. But I notice it at other times too, especially coasting at low speeds.
Anyway, just wanted to share that hey, it might be that, in which case it is, according to Tony, not a big deal. And I need to quit my overuse of commas.

As with anything that goes wrong with anything, I suspect malicious demons.

Molly's right, that's what it is. Your mechanic isn'tscrewing you over.
In fact, Mechanics are kind, gentle people with hearts as pure as Ivory soap on a newborn's bottom. Their interest lies only in their unyeilding desire to see all cars run with ease.
