if EVERYONE builds the fort in the first place... i think perhaps you should make sure in the rules that the teams are only chosen AFTER the fort is built.

That way everyone has to worry about whether they'll have to be defending it and put in a good job, rather than having the attackers "building" the fort really half assed and sabotaging the thing.

You know another fun game? My sister and I made this one up - it's call Blanket Fight:

Take a really, really big blanket and the two of you lie on opposite corners; you wrap the corner close to your body, and on the count of 3 you start rolling inwards - you meet in the middle and then you must roll over the other person to get their blanket space - the winner is the one that is rolled up completley in the blanket.

jon! this seems an approperiate time to tell you that i am going to be in the bay area next week. i am three kinds of in on this if it happens to occur during my time there. also:

what if *both* teams made a fort? then the general would have more strategery with assigning attackers and defenders, and it would be like capture the flag except it would be capture the "me KICKIN' YOUR ASS."

Really, the number of forts present is dependent entirely on the number of boxes people bring.
