You know what's brilliant about cats? When they do bring the body back to its family it's because they think their family is stupid and doesn't know how to hunt.

See, this is why I hate cats, but love dogs. That sort of behavior just shows that cats are cruel, sadistic, hateful little creatures. As Mauvaise points out, when they bring a corpse back to the family, it's not as a gift, like a dog would do, but as a condescending "i am better than you" display.
Ugh. Cats.
interestingly enough this topic just came up on my blog too, and I agree, the feline attitude on these matters doesn't seem especially loving.
My cat lovingly brought a cute little mouse back to me once - alive. Then my dog swallowed it whole - alive. It cost me $100 for vet visit because darn dog had stomach ache after it.
Ho dear, the dog ate it whole? alive? 8-o *glups* hum well, anyway, poor mices. they're so cute.
