Itching is a by-product of your body knitting itself back together. Atleast in a fantasy novel whenever the main character gets hurt, they always reference the itching that come with knowing the would is healing properly.

this comment has to do with a different kind of itch.....the itch that comes from withdrawals of not seeing jon sung-hero frequently enough.
