-will be kissed, cursed, or vexed, run against a gatepost, or shake hands with a fool
-get a surprise
-are going to be angry

My mom always said when your nose itches, you'll kiss a fool. I always circumvented that by kissing myself in the mirror.

i've always heard it means company's coming... and if your ear burns/itches, someones talking about you,and if you palm itches you'll come into some money (or some rather off color commentary that i shall NOT go into here! hehehe)
