Which, let's be careful, that's precisely the response this piece was meant to create. I've been fortunate enough to have spent a whole lot of time amongst rich white fundamentalist xenophobes, and stories like this, written for American leftists outlets with American leftist audiences, have all of the neocons' kind, normal chitchat, charitable consideration, and humanity carefully redacted out of them. Only the most horrible, hateful things remain, giving you the impression of a bunch of disgusting smirk demons swilling mai tais and cursing at the Filipino help. Not to say there isn't plenty of hate to go around on the American right, and there's a world of difference in the tenability of basic worldview between us and them, but it's best to keep in mind that the corn-fed dittoheads don't have a monopoly on the football mentality. This is a heavily slanted article, is what I'm saying. It's not a clear picture.
