"1. If you purchased canister filters or inline replacement filters they have not been primed with any water. When the filters are primed with water it takes out the Activated Carbon dust. Even though this black dust will aid you and your employees for digestion and poisoning (they use carbon when someone has been poisoned because it helps adsorb the poison) most people do not want to drink water that has black dust in it. Prime your filters by running 3 to 5 gallons of water (3 to 5 minutes) to a drain before hooking up to your water cooler."
So...maybe it is carbon dust?
That is my prime suspect as well, but I'm forced to admit that it may also be the wreckage of defeated nanites
