No sim card? If you have a sim card then when you get a new phone you'll just swap the card. No sweat.

I think only certain carriers (T-Mobile and Cingular) use a SIM card. I was able to copy numbers en-masse that way.

Do you have Verizon? They can usually transfer numbers for you. I know they don't have a SIM card, but I think all their phones basically use the same software which makes transfers like this possible.
I also started using this software from Verizon called Backup Assistant which is free if you are a "my account" customer (which I think just means you've signed up to use their services online). It automatically uploads my contacts onto their website to back them up and periodically does an automatic upload to keep my contacts up to date. You can access this list online anytime, download and transfer to a new phone.
Anyway, those are my suggestions, but all only if you're a Verizon customer.

My phone doesn't have a SIM card, but I am on Verizon. This will be useful information for whenever I get a new phone for sure!

Dunno about PC-based solutions, but my Verizon phone (which has bluetooth) syncs to Address Book on my mac, so now I'll never have to go through that torture ever again. Highly recommend it. Y'know, if you've had your phone for that long, you can probably upgrade to a very swank one for free.

The point of that post was to say: you should get a bluetooth/SIM card phone so you won't have to worry about that anymore.

I second the Verizon thing. They transferred my contacts when I got a new phone last year; I think it cost maybe $10* at the time. However, the $10 was very much worth the time I did not spend transferring a hundred numbers myself.
*I have a memory of this price, but I am not 100% sure about it. Still, it wasn't much higher or lower than that.

I second the Mac thing. I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing on a Windows PC if you have Outlook. Or, you know, find someone with a Bluetooth-equipped Mac.
