Perhaps Austin thinks you're easy because you are so laid-back. I like your style, and I liked what you have had to say. I surmise that you are not nearly so easy as you seem.

Thanks for the very encouraging words! I'm probably less ignorant than Austin thinks I am, though perhaps not much better educated than he thinks I am.
I definitely prefer to have these sorts of discussions calmly. Once one has to raise one's voice, attack one's opponent rather than the arguments of the opponent, and once one starts feeling angry and defensive, one has to look at the source of one's own insecurity.
