The other being Namor, I assume? Or the Silver Surfer?

I found a good article on cutting down on referal spam, I linked to it here. I had an insane amount this month too.

So he's an old character, then? I liked him. Are there any collected things with him in it?

Ed--There was a Warlord trade, years and years ago, but it's long out of print. He'd be a good candidate for one of DC's "Showcase Presents" volumes, as Mike Grell's artwork would translate well into black and white.

Failing that, you could check out back-issue bins. When I bought a run of all Mike Grell's issues, including the first annual and the appearance in First Issue Special, I don't think I spent more than four or five dollars for any given issue, with most being about one dollar.

Tim--Actually, I was thinking of Den.

Shane--Thanks for reminding me of that post, I'll have to dig through it when I have more time. I just reconfigured my .htaccess file to block the sites that have been affecting me lately. I know it's not the best solution, but it's the easiest for me to implement at the moment.

What's odd is, I used to get one or two hits a month from a couple of poker or porn sites, so I wasn't too bothered by it, but I've been getting hundreds to thousands of hits a day lately from prescription drug and "norwegion cruise" sites. I've managed to freeze most of them out with ISP denies, but I'd like something a little more proactive that doesn't require me to put in the denies by hand, and fixing the access file seemed like the best solution.

If you want I can e-mail you my .htaccess file and we can probably combine them.

Oh and I actually saw that Warlord tpb at a store just yesterday. E-mail me if you want me to pick it up for you later this week Ed. It was priced around $20 I think.

Naughty man!

Travis will be featured, by the way, in a new series I'm already planning over at "my place":

The 25 Sexiest Superheroes of the DCU !

Didn't I see something a few months ago about a Warlord revival? (That didn't, unfortunately, involve Grell in any way.) Or am I misremembering? If it happens, maybe we will see a DC Showcase Presents volume.

Jonathan--That would be the forthcoming series by Bruce Jones and Bart Sears. And yeah, with luck DC will decide to put out a Showcase Presents volume to coincide with the release.

Who's Den? (Pics pleaz...)

Is that a shrunken head cod piece? If so, how come?

Warlord is eminently suited to be published in black and white, as this was how it was published in the Netherlands, as a backup in the Batman magazines.

Travis Morgan, the thinking man's Green Arrow.

Hrmph. They slapped more clothing on *him* but let the chicks run around in fur bikinis on JLU last night.

WHERE IS THE JUSTICE, I ASK YOU.

I guess "old character" is a relative term. When I first collected, I bought just the Marvel books, because I didn't want to get caught up in two universes. Warlord ws one of the first non-Marvels, and possibly the first DC I ever bought. (Then came Pacific and First and Eclipse, but that's another story.)

I agree with Matin -- that's totally Green Arrow's facial hair.

Wow. :-)

There's a great issue during Grell's run on Green Arrow where Morgan arrives in Star City and everyone thinks he is Green Arrow.

His most recent appearance (JLU aside) was at the end of Peter David's Aquaman series, though I don't remember if David actually wrote the issues in question.
