I may be, but I prefer to aire on the side of caution. He needs to have a dynamite season in order for me to believe he can be the generational talent that people claim.
And I just don't see a ton of power out of him. I see power, but not Manny Ramirez kind of stuff.
Until I see the raw power, his ceiling can't be incredibly high. Maybe Tabata has the tools to hit .340, but it's more likely that he'll be a .300-.315 hitter, which good power and good plate discipline.
His defense is good, but nothing special.
Of course, I could be wrong. A guy with Tabata's talent can create his own new archetype.
Iīve been dreaming evere since I heard the Manny comparisons, but I havenīt seen the numbers from him yet. He can be really good, but to be like Manny it will take a lot of hard work, talent development, health and luck.

Alex, Tabata's listed weight is wrong, he's actually about 185-190 I would say.
The thing to remember too when looking at Manny v. Tabata is Manny did not sign and start playing professionally until his age 19 season. Tabata is about to play in advanced A ball in his age 18 season. That's an ENORMOUS difference.
