I like the 50/50 major/minor leagues. Provided that you have the time, I think a good format for your updates during the season would be a short recap for each game with a "what Joe Torre did wrong" section or something. And of course I'd always like to know about major status changes for all the prospects. Maybe you could have a weekly or monthly update to the top 30 prospects list? It would be cool to track how highly rated each prospect would be over the course of the season, and each release could be accompanied by a few paragraphs explaining why certain changes were made.

Why the Yankees are Sick
It has been just reported that the New York Yankees are discussing trading Melky Cabrera to the Pittsburg Pirates for OK reliever Mike Gonzalez. This is just disgusting. Think back to the trading deadline of last year (06).
The Yankees had Hideki Matsui Injured along with Gary Schefield. They did, however, have up-and-coming prospect Melky Cabrera who seemed to be filled with clutch hits and spectacular plays in the outfield. But the Yankees were not happy with having someone like that in their outfield. They wanted to have more. More More More! So they signed Bobby Abreu to a huge deal. Now, on paper, they had 5 suitable outfielders. No problem, just keep the most expensive ones and trade the rest away!
So here we are, the Yankees are using Melky Cabrera as bait. Every team in the MLB would love to get their hands on that future star. But the Yankees don't feel like seeing how he progresses through the Major Leagues. Instead, they just want expensive outfielders, and as many relievers (no matter if they're good or bad) as possible. This is the simple reason the Yankees are sick.
The Media loves the move to use 'The Melk Man' as bait. Are you kidding me? How about the golden rule: Don't Trade Awesome Prospects. Come on Yankee Media. Get with the times. But of course, the Yankees CAN trade away prospects. They CAN sacrafice the future for today. All because they have a rich owner who is willing to hand out $100 million contracts like flyers in NY. The MLB desperatly needs to fix this problem.
The Redsox just spent $215 million this offseason .This Idiot writer and whiny Redsox fan who complains that Yankees shouldn't trade Melky because He's homegrown. Last year Redsox traded their farm and Top jewel Hanley Ramirez and Anibal Sanchez for overrated just beckett. I didn't hear any redsox and yankees fans complains about the trade. You have to give up something good like melky to get something.
My point is Redsox fans should not worry Yankees and worry about their team. . Redsox Fans are becoming like Yankees Fans who wants every high price free agents in the market to be sign.

I think you should definitely change the name of the blog. Alot of Yankee fans love Torre and would be turned off by the name as you stated in your blog. When I was looking for some info on our prospects I almost bypassed it for the same reason, but you kept coming up on Google so I decided to just take a look. I just started reading your blog after the postseason so I don't know what you write about during the regular season.
I think your Minor League reports are informative and will keep checking in to read them. Maybe you should do 70% Minor League/30% Major. Track how our Minor League teams/prospects are doing and let us know who's hot or cold. Also, since you seem to know a good bit about prospects, how about a draft preview. Who you think we should pick based on our draft postion and # of picks. It's hard to get good MLB draft info on the net. Since players in the MLB draft don't go straight to the pros like in the NFL or NBA, it seems like we-die hard baseball fans- don't get the same kind of coverage as those two sports do.

I've been strongly considering changing the name of the blog. I have also been considering registering a domain for the blog.
Problem is, I'm uncreative! I've been thinking for weeks, and I've only come up with a few terrible ideas. I've been thinking about something like "Bronx Reinforcements".
Any ideas for names?

I really appreciate what you do. The concentration on MiL ball and Yankees prospects is outstanding as is the detail with which you present the information.
I DESPISE THE NAME. If you can bring yourself to change it please do. I stayed away for quite a while because I misinterpreted the name and expected it to describe content. Ill still read and highly value what you do if you dont change it but I suspect Ill enjoy it more if you do. Anyway thanks, this is great stuff.

Well, I personally think you should keep the name, because I think Joe Torre should be fired.

You run a great site and I love the fact that you work daily on it. It gives us, yankee hungry fans, something good and intelligent to read every time, without the pain of going thru spread sheets or endless numbers every time.
You should do a 50/50 on ML and Minors. Itīs great to have all this info about prospect on the off-season, but come April, the main focus is in NY.
About the name, I doesn't matter for me now, because I'm a usual reader. But if you want more people to read it, you should defintly change it, for many reasons:
1. It doesnīt reflect the real content of the site. Itīs been many months since the last time you wrote something to support your "Fire-Joe-Torre" argument or there's no main article to go to if someone wants to now why . You don't have a "Torre-count" as Nomaas.org has either.
2. It doesn't attract many new readers. If that's what you want, fine, but your good work should be expose more. I didn't want to come here because of the title, it says that the articles would be irrational and without balance. I first read your page on a day I had nothing to do, and kept reading it.
3. The days of yor title are counted, anyway. Torre will be gone someday, maybe in less than 300 days. Why wait for the inevitable?
Anyway, great work, I really enjoy it everyday and look foward to read it.

Thinking on this, I came with other suggestions, and since you asked:
4. Ask anyone in merchandising: Itīs better to put a positive name than a negative
5. Your title puts your site in the "Trade Arod" category, without beeing one.
6. You could be in the middle of a "failed crusade". The odds are that Torre could never be fired.
ok, I allready said this one, but let me say it in other words: Your title and content have a divorce. The ones attracted by your title will not find anything about it, the ones looking for good and smart posts are not attracted by your title.
The thing I like the most is that you add your take to every article. Itīs not only a facts or stats site. It takes courage to do it. It will be good if you could do more Yankee news and rumors.

Chofo, I don't comment on a lot of the rumors that we hear because I don't view them as credible enough to warrant a conversation. But I'll take your advice for the new site in terms of commentary on Yankee news.
